I was recently contacted by Sara, who booked me for a 40 minute photo shoot as a surprise for her friend Martha, who is expecting a baby boy in February. I met the girls outside the Pump Rooms in Pittville Park, it would be fair to say that Martha was very surprised!!

The girls all had their own ideas for photos, which they had seen on various social media platforms, and so we incorporated some of their ideas with some of mine. The whole 40 minutes was great fun, with a few outfit changes too. The girls had plenty of energy and enjoyed jumping off the steps, hiding behind the pillars of the Pump Rooms and giving Martha and her beautiful bump lots of cuddles too!

There is only one word to describe Finn - ‘GORGEOUS!’ I can’t remember ever doing a newborn shoot where little one has simply slept the whole way through. He was a perfectly content little creature, with only the occasional muttering when we stripped him down to his nappy, but very quickly he was wrapped up in a soft, cosy blanket again, and back to sleep!

His Mum, Jo, declined to be in any of the photographs, preferring instead to capture her precious bundle, who at only 10 days old, was a surprise Christmas present for the couple! As with all my newborn shoots, I arrived early to give myself time to set up and meet Mum and baby, and shot right through to the end of the hour, leaving extra time at the end to pack up. This means that clients get the full 60 minutes of shooting, which is always needed as there are frequently pauses for feeding and cuddles.
