Photography Workshops - £95 per session
My photography courses offer a flexible, informal and affordable approach to learning about the skills required to take well composed, well exposed photographs. They are suited to any level, whether you’re a complete beginner with no previous knowledge or have some experience in the field and want to further your understanding of the subject.
Individuals or groups are welcome to book a session, whether you’re a group of Mum’s keen to learn how to take better pictures of your little ones, a business owner keen to take better pictures of the products that you make or sell, or a student in need of extra tuition. Everyone is welcome and courses can be tailored to suit individual needs.
The course uses a practical and theoretical approach and works well broken down into three ninety minute sessions run over a series of six weeks, (although you are welcome to book just a single session if you prefer.) In between sessions you can expect to be set a series of projects to complete, which will then be critiqued in the following session. By the end of the course you will notice significant improvement in your ability and camera knowledge.
Week 1: Camera Basics (theory)
Understanding how your digital camera works.
Understanding what shutter speed, aperture and ISO are and how they work together.
Understanding depth of field and how to control it.
Understanding exposure and how to control it.
Understanding ISO and noise.
Understanding white balance and colour temperatures.
Week 2: Practical Photography (on location)
Understanding different photography disciplines.
Understanding composition.
Understanding the Rule of Thirds.
Week 3: Post Production (studio)
Post production tips, tricks and techniques including an introduction to Adobe Lightroom.
I have been working as a full time professional photographer for the last 14 years after graduating from Central St Martins, London, in 2004 with a fine art photography degree. I began my career photographing weddings and branched out into other subjects after the birth of my second child in 2013. My clients now cover an extremely broad spectrum and it is with this wealth of training, knowledge and experience that I feel able to help others fulfil their potential behind the lens.
