Longfield Hospice
I was contacted recently by Longfield Hospice who needed professional images of their care home. The brief was to capture images of the patients, carers, the therapeutic activities, the grounds and so fourth. They needed images that were able to capture the mood of the place, which was positively uplifting and not at all what you would expect for an end of care life centre.
The day began with a Creative Space session, this is where patients come together for art therapy. They were looking for animated shots of people in conversation or totally absorbed in art. We stayed in the session until the Hospice at Home team were ready for their head and group shots, which we did outside in the gardens. I then joined the group for lunch, which they also wanted some photos of, before taking shots of the grounds and buildings.
I was with the Longfield team for about 4 hours. Having worked with similar charities before, I understand the need for great discretion and a gentle approach. It took the patients and their carers a little time to get used to having a photographer in the room, but I believe my calm and subtle demeanour helped enormously at putting people at ease. A hugely moving day, but thoroughly rewarding. Below is just a small sample of the images I took. Head over to my review page to find out what everyone thought about their experience with me.
If you run a charity and need some professional photos taking then please get in touch using my contact page or send an email to info@mouseabouttown.co.uk. Alternatively, give me a call on 07983 465414. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks.
